Who can attend? We are sponsored through the Reformed Church, but welcome all denominations. Contact email@example.com to get your church registered! Registered churches may bring youth in 9th-12th grade and must have a minimum 1:7 leader to youth ratio for each gender.
I want to attend, but my church does not plan to register? Contact Suzy@genesisevent.org for churches in your area that do plan to attend. We will consider allowing you to come without a church if you have adult chaperones willing to sign up and take responsibility for you and a minimum of 3 people in your room.
When do we sign up? Churches should be registering as soon as possible. Individual sign ups will begin on November 1st for youth and leaders.
I want to volunteer? See our link on the home page. Volunteer sign ups begin on October 15, 2017 and all individuals will be subject to a background check. We will let you know in December if we are able to use you for the event as space is limited. There is no charge to volunteer, but you are responsible for your own transportation to and from the event.
Will I have fun? Of course! Mark Yaconelli is an amazing speaker, Harris III weaves in positive messages to illusions and magic, and GTR is an amazing location. You will have time for tons of fun while growing in your walk with Christ and bonding with your youth group.
What can I do while waiting for March 9 to arrive? Save a little change to help us with our goal of providing shoes for the people of Uganda through our partnership with Sole Hope. Every pair of shoe uppers we cut out needs to be sent with $10 so that the people in Uganda can have local employees assemble the shoes. Seriously…. Give up your favorite latte or soda once a week and put that money in a jar. Every $10 will help people have disease-free feet, as well as create jobs. Consider a special offering being taken at your church. You can make a difference!
What’s the schedule? Churches arrive for check-in between 5-8pm on Friday, March 9. Meals provided are Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday breakfast. Departure is approximately 11:30am on Sunday, March 11. There will be some changes, but a detailed schedule from the 2016 event can be provided upon request to give you a general idea of each day.
